Confidence comes in many forms. It is pretty common for someone to feel really confident about some things in their life or even a lot of things, and to not feel confident at all about other things. For example, you may be a great cook and have confidence in the kitchen, but that confidence doesn’t always translate when you want to learn a new skill or ask your boss for that raise.
Perhaps you have tried before and it didn’t go well, so you just gave up. That memory is stored in your subconscious mind and so you remember that it was hard or you think that you’re just not good at it. Our subconscious mind likes repetition, so if you tell yourself over and over you are not good enough or you can’t change, then you begin to believe it is true.
